Last year we walked away being crowned the ‘Community Apprentice of the Year’. With a new academic year, it was time to launch the competition all over again.   11 successful students have agreed to participate in the programme and have dedicated themselves to 12 weeks of hard working, hoping to maintain the crown.

Envisions is a programme that encourages students to build up key employability skills whilst also helping their community by working on a project they care about. The students will be guided through a series of fun, interactive challenges by trained Envision staff and will meet with business mentors from Burges Salmon.

Our students have had the opportunity to meet their business mentors when we headed over to Burges Salmon for the afternoon for a bit of a brainstorming session on how they can raise money for their charity. Lots of ideas were thrown around and we have hopefully narrowed down some of our choices.  Watch this space for an event that is running to raise money for the Envision project.

With 8 weeks left of the project the students still have a huge amount of work to do. We will make sure we update you on their progress. FHS wish them the best of luck with this competition.
