Junior Apprentice style competition heralded a great success!

Last academic year saw the re-launch of Work Experience for our Year 10 students and it was pleasing to know that over half of the cohort successfully found a work placement. Students found work placements in a variety of fields; working in education to retail; to working at Southmead Hospital, Bristol Magistrates Court, to a Media Production company based in London. It has been a pleasure reading the returned employers feedback forms, commenting on how hard working and enthusiastic some of our students were - A real credit to the school!

For those students, who were unsuccessful in finding a work placement; their week was spent completing an 'Employability Skills' Workshop.  Throughout the week their learning was building so they were able to compete in a Junior Apprentice style competition - Rebranding an Object.  Business mentors were invited in from NATWEST bank to work with the students on creating business plans, to marketing to delivering their final pitch.

Congratulations to Nikita & La'Shaun for delivering the winning pitch!

Year 11 students - those who still have outstanding WEX Log books, please return them to me  ASAP

Year 10 students - lets make sure every student in Year 10 secures a work placement.  Remember 9th May is the deadline for returned forms.
