Library News

At the beginning of June our student librarians visited the Bristol branch of Waterstones, accompanied by librarians Mrs Brown and Mrs Carr.  They were given the chance to choose new books for the library.  We took a shopping list with us and we received recommendations and advice and from the Waterstones team. We bought a total of 65 books – a very successful visit!

Also in June, a group of students attended a consultation session in the library on the future of Bristol public libraries.  Our students had some great ideas about how local public libraries could be improved and made more relevant for teenagers. Some of their ideas were; longer loan periods, a place to download music,  more libraries open on a Sunday and more computers!  The team from Bristol Libraries were very impressed with our students’ enthusiastic ideas.

We have been successful with Twitter competitions again.  We’ve won a copy of A-Z of the World Cup from Raintree publishers, in celebration of the Women’s World Cup and a copy of Wonder from Penguin Schools UK in celebration of #KindnessDay

If a parent requires a paper copy of the information on the school's website, please contact us and this will be provided free of charge
