Maths session with Bristol University PGCE students

Year 10 students had the opportunity to work individually or in pairs with a Bristol University student on topics they had selected beforehand.

Each topic was in a 30 minute slot and they chose four areas including Circle Theorems, Quadratic equations, inequalities and indices. Even the most knowledgeable students learnt new things and it provided a fantastic revision opportunity for everyone.

Some Year 11 students joined the last session and benefited from some last minute revision on angles, fractions and area of quadrilaterals in advance of their GCSE examinations.

The PGCE students were also really pleased to be here and said it was a real opportunity for them to practise teaching in a different way; we have already booked them for next year.

Our students said: 'It was really useful, I learnt a lot' and 'Great session Miss, I understand circles now'.
