Lucie gives students an insight into being a designer

Bristol based Screen printer and illustrator Lucie Sheridan has given up her morning to come and talk to an excited group of students from Year 8 and 9 Textiles.

Lucie spoke to the students about life as a designer /maker and talked through her fantastic portfolio of work which includes illustrations for a number of National newspapers: Penguin and Heals. The students then showed her work they have been doing in Textiles; she was very impressed and took some photos for her own records.

The students then experienced what it is like to work as a designer with a tight deadline and came up with quick ideas for a client designing witty fruit hybrids. Congratulations to our winner Kiki Zeko from 9M.

Well done to all that took part and to the Year 8 textiles groups who have produced some excellent screen prints this term based on Lucie’s work.
