iLearn Days are Back!

iLearn Day One

J-Sol, an extremely talented singer who has toured with Little Mix and Boys ll Men was joined by Hussain, a presenter and comedian who is the face of online brand 'Hussain's House', to deliver a unique performance to KS3 students as part of a UK tour to promote 'Online Safety and Cyber Bullying'.

They delivered an interactive workshop based on their own experiences of online safety and cyber bullying.  FHS students were allowed to participate in a question and answer session in which the dangers of using the internet were highlighted along with raising awareness of how to report any related cyber bullying or safety fears.  J-Sol and Hussain also entertained our students by performing some new songs from their forthcoming tour.

"Its really important that we use a variety of methods to raise awareness about the importance of Online Safety and how to tackle Cyber Bullying" Ms Thomas

iLearn Day Two

Unique Voice returned with an Anti-Bullying Workshop aimed at our Year 7 students.

Students were off-timetable for the day and all engaged in several interactive workshops based around the topic of bullying; they started by watching a performance delivered by Unique Voice themselves before being separated into smaller groups for inspiring workshops which taught students about the importance of positive role models.

The final workshop of the day was 'FHS: Makes a Difference'.  The aim of the session was for students to use the knowledge gained from the entire day to create a piece of work that helped to portray the message of Anti-Bullying. Our students did not disappoint and really impressed; there were many inspiring pieces of work but Ms Thomas and PC Perry have chosen their top two winners: Aaliyah, Grace, Andrea, Weronika, Nila, Rosy - for their amazing song (including a rap section) and Maud, Jayden, Hayeed, Pablo & Rehan - for their catching sharp short slogan "Support and Report".

The winners have received an amazing pizza lunch for their tutor groups to the value of £25 and they will become 'FHS Anti -Bullying Mentors'.

Well done to all students involved.

The next iLearn day is for Year 9 at their GCSE Taster Day in November
