Football season starts with strong start

Term 3 means the start of the football season and once again there were excellent numbers of students attending training making it very difficult to pick a squad of 14 for each year group. It is also our first season being able to use our newly developed football pitches which has allowed us to host more games.

Our first round of fixtures was against Cathedral where the boys performed really well winning 4 out of 5. The Year 7s won 3-1 with Sadiq, Jaser and Amari impressing in their first game for the school.

The Year 8s captained by Isaac were unlucky as they came up against a strong Cathedral team and Matias' goal was not enough as they lost 4-1.

The Year 9s got off to an excellent start and created numerous chances, eventually Admas opened the scoring with a tidy finish. More excellent build up play led to a cross from Ches finding Zac who finished comfortably, the boys defended well to see out the game after Cathedral got a goal back in the second half.

The Year 10s recorded an impressive scoreline winning 7-0 with Rohan scoring 4!

Finally the Year 11s won their game 4-0 with CJ and Raheim getting on the score sheet, it could have been more but the Cathedral goalkeeper made some excellent saves.

We have 3 more schools to play, coming up next is CAB followed by OSB and RGS, the boys will be hoping to keep up their winning starts in order to progress into the knockout stage.

We wish them every success!
