Students offer Mental Health advice

Bristol Post published the article below about a subject very close to our hearts; for this reason we were delighted our students were approached to offer their words of wisdom.

"Mental health might still be an awkward subject for some, but open discussion is key to ending the stigma.

Earlier this year, the NHS revealed almost 400,000 children and young people aged 18 and under are in contact with the health service about mental health problems. The number of active referrals by GPs were rising quickly, and while demand for help is up, services are diminishing.

Almost a quarter of those children were in families that struggle to function well, the research said, while 28 per cent of the children have at least one parent going through their own mental health crisis.
