FOOD TECH. TEACHER

Fairfield High School is seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic inspirational Food Technology Teacher to join our team.  Fairfield has a positive and innovative learning culture supported by students, staff, parents and Governors. 

Fairfield High School is looking for an inspiring, creative, energetic teacher with excellent subject knowledge of various exam boards, an ability to deliver exciting and challenging lessons in GCSE food & nutrition at KS4. The ideal candidate would have experience of teaching KS3 resistant materials, product design or engineering.  The Engineering & Technology faculty offers a diverse curriculum.  Many of the subjects within the faculty are popular option subjects; with positive results gained in many of the areas. 

You will:

  • Be a strong and committed teacher with a proven track record of progress at KS3, KS4
  • Have previous experience in raising student attainment and implementing effective intervention
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have strong classroom management skill
  • Be aware of the new changes in the curriculum, and have ideas of how to implement this

TEACHER OF SCIENCE - MATERNITY COVER

Fairfield High School is seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic inspirational Science Teacher to join a well-resourced department that has a relentless focus of raising achievement at GCSE.  Fairfield, rated as Ofsted good, is noted to be ‘inclusive and harmonious with students that are intellectually curious’.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to raise the profile of Science at Fairfield.  The successful candidate would be joining the team.  There are real opportunities to lead on curriculum issues and change approaches to teaching and learning. 
The right candidate will need to demonstrate strong classroom management skills, have excellent organisational and ICT skills, a high degree of initiative, be able to work independently as well as part of a faculty team, and the ability to motivate pupils and achieve excellent results.  A specialism in Physics is desirable.

The post would suit an NQT or an experienced Teacher looking to advance their career.

SCHOOL MEALS SUPERVISORY ASSISTANT

Job Starts: As soon as possible

Hours: 7.5 hours per week, term time only plus 2 Inset Days

Pay: £9.00 per hour

Post: Permanent post

Closing date: Midnight Wednesday 11/03/2020

We are looking to appoint two part time School Meals Supervisory Assistants to work 7.5 hours per week from 1.30pm – 3.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only plus 2 Inset days.

Duties will include assisting in the lunchtime supervision of pupils to ensure that meals are completed on time in a safe and hygienic setting, and to clear and tidy the canteen.  (Please see full job description).

  • Able to work as part of a team

EXAM INVIGILATORS REQUIRED

£9 - £10.25 per hour (dependant on experience)

Invigilators play a key role in the successful running of exams and you will work as part of an experienced and friendly 0team, reporting to the Head Invigilator.

We need flexible, reliable people to fulfil this vital school role. 

This post is casual, term time only to cover exam dates throughout the school year.

Hours are variable, morning sessions could start at 8am and afternoon sessions could continue to 5pm.

Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

The role of an exam invigilator involves a variety of things including:

  • To arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination session to be invigilated
  • Preparation of the exam room
  • To be familiar with the current examination regulations
  • Handing out/collecting exam papers
  • Supervising students whilst the exam is in progress
  • Assisting a student with Special Needs or Access Arrangements as a reader or scribe
  • Ensuring that students comply with exam rules and regulations

No experience necessary, training will be given.
