Pond Life by UWE
UWE helped FHS students investigate the secret lives of Algae & their Protozoan predators.
FHS was delighted to host the UWE workshop during science week this year which investigated the flora & fauna of pond water. Students were particularly excited to observe the amazing Tardigrades (Water Bears) as they went about their normal business amongst the pond life. These creatures sparked particular interest as it was explained to them how Tardigrades can be frozen solid, dried out and even exposed to the vacuum of space only to spring back to life when returned to their normal pond life existence.
