Mock Interviews/Exam Results

In order to prepare Year 11 students for life after school, we run a special mock interview day in collaboration with a mock results day.

This important day involves students opening up their exam results in front of a member of FHS’s Senior Leadership Team and/or their tutor and seeing if they would be successful in obtaining a place at College/Sixth Form with their current results. It is either an intentional ‘pat on the back’ or ‘wake-up call’ for our students as they continue through this crucial year.

We have found that very few of our students, to date, have had a College interview, so in conjunction with opening their results, we encourage students to experience a mock interview.

Volunteers from local providers or businesses conduct the interviews, so it really does feel real! Interviews last approximately 15 minutes, and afterwards an evaluation form completed. Students reflect on the same questions themselves by completing their own evaluation form.

The documents below give some top tips for students in order to prepare for an interview, and to give them an idea of the kinds of questions which might crop up.
