Minefield in Pangaea

The aim of this activity is for students to learn how to direct and co-ordinate other pupils. They are all in groups of two and they have to complete this obstacle course in the quickest time without missing or standing on the obstacles. One person is blindfolded and is completing the course; the other person is directing them with noises and not words. If they talk to their partners they get a 10 second time penalty added each time onto their final time. The teachers supervise to see if the student is safe and to time and catch out any mistakes during the activity. Before they complete the course they have to plan their strategy on what to do. A student who is involved in the activity said:

“The skills I learnt doing this activity is listening and communication”- Josh Year 9.
