Investigating crime in a Mathematical Way

As part of Maths Week, some Year 7 classes took part in investigating a crime. They used body ratios and some carelessly placed evidence to identify the criminal from amongst a group of suspects.

The students learned to work as a team, with a few learning how to lead a team, and delegate roles and responsibilities as well as the Maths required to solve the mystery.

Maryam Bismah said "It was really fun, much better than Maths!"

Some were so engrossed in finding the crook they had forgotten they were actually doing Maths.

Aaron Letang said "I liked that you had to find out who did it but all you had was a hand print”
