Homelearning Schedule

Please note: we are currently reviewing our homelearning schedule, so this document may be subject to change in the course of the year.

Key Stage 3 Homelearning schedule

Homework will be set by teachers on the Show My Homework website. Click here for website show-my-homework-parent-leaflet

1.    Students will complete, on average, one or two substantial homelearning projects per term. The projects are designed complement the curriculum so the time frame for each project is not always the same.

2.    The aim of the projects is to develop independent learning, research skills and personalised learning. This is particularly important in preparing students for the new curriculum and revised examinations at KS4.

3.    Projects will require 10 hours out of school study in Year7, 15 in Year 8, 20 hours in Year 9.

4.    When the project is set, full guidance is given on:

•      When and how progress will be checked.

•      What is expected for successful completion

•      How to complete the project

•      What help is available

•      How the project will be assessed

5.    Some subjects will set weekly homeworks to support and extend class based learning.

6.    The Library/Learning Resource Centre is open every morning from 8am and after school until 4pm Monday to Thursday.
