Foraging

Foraging. It’s a life skill that’s died out over time, but can still be needed in desperate times. Groups in Australasia have been exploring and finding out about the natural world. Searching for stinging nettles, fat hen (a leafy plant, which has “more nutrients than spinach”) and blackberries. Led by Dr Murray, the group learned about distinguishing poisonous plants from non-poisonous plants. The year 10 students were very enthusiastic and surprised by the day.

After working up an appetite, the group headed back to their base to eat and enjoy their findings.
