Our extra-curricular activities build confidence and character in an environment where students are supported and nurtured.

Team sports: All-weather sports pitches. Football, Netball, Basketball, Hockey, Rounders, Cricket, Rugby. 
Healthy living: Swimming, Badminton, Athletics, Gymnastics, Trampolining and other individual sports are encouraged. Nature club is held in our on-site garden.
Music, Drama and Dance: Choir, Music, Orchestra, Samba Drumming and Dance Clubs (including The Rise Dance Troupe, Stages and the Shakespeare In Schools Festival). School productions. Performances at the Summer & Winter Galas.
Trips: Exmouth Camp, Bushcraft trip and Maths-related visits (Oxford University, trips to The Pitt Rivers Museum and Bletchley Park). Various visits abroad to suit historians, linguists, sports enthusiasts and artists.
Clubs: Debate, ICT, cookery, film, homework, Feminist Society, LGBTQ+ – to name just a few.
Enterprise: Many regional Young Enterprise titles won.
Community: Regular charity collections, specialist transition team working with local primary schools, plus contact/visits from MPs.
Adventure: Duke of Edinburgh Award. Outdoor and adventurous activities offered through our PE department.
Leadership: FHS House system enables all to compete. Prefects selected by application and interviews to lead the community and mentor others.
National Competitions: United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Team Challenge and Junior Challenges for our most able; BBC Sharp Shotz competition.
