Funding for 2019-20 will be spent in the following ways:

  • Funded time allocation for all Year 7 tutor groups to receive one hour of dedicated reading per fortnight in English curriculum, 25 minutes per week of dedicated Literacy support in tutor time, 25 minutes per week of dedicated Numeracy support in tutor time
  • 25% of English and Maths HLTA costs for direct support of identified Yr.7 pupils below average in reading and/or Maths at KS2
  • 1:1 testing of all students who arrive with a KS2 standardised score of <100
  • Funded time to allow screening of pupils for Dyslexia/Dyscalculia

Funding provided in 2018-19 was spent in the following ways:

  • Funded time allocation for all Year 7 tutor groups to receive one hour of dedicated reading per fortnight in English curriculum, 40 minutes per week of dedicated Literacy support in tutor time, 20 minutes per week of dedicated Numeracy support in tutor time
  • Purchase of Nessy Reading/Spelling programme
  • Implementation of Nessy Reading/spelling programme
  • Funded time to allow screening of pupils for Dyslexia/Dyscalculia

Attainment of Catch Up cohort in 2018-19

49 Pupils were identified to require support in literacy and/or numeracy.

Progress of these pupils is shown in the table below.

Conclusions:

Literacy – Average Reading gains of 18 months and 72% of identified pupils making at least expected progress

Numeracy – 80% of identified pupils making at least expected progress
