Multilingual students go digital

Fairfield is proud of its students with English as an additional language who are showing particular resilience at this time.

Our link with the tutoring charity Jacari continues, with 1:1 sessions carrying on online.  Volunteers, all students from the University of Bristol, are still tutoring FHS students where possible, either by phone, letter or through video conferencing.  Despite being back home in China one dedicated tutor is still tutoring via WhatsApp with Bayan Ishak in Year 7. Find out more about Jacari here:

Mrs El-Jarad from the "English as an Additional Language" department reports that many FHS students are working hard independently on their English, notably Zaid Almarto and Bayan in Year 7, Ibrahim Alsayah in Year 8, and Amro Shamout, Iman Alsayah and Mani Peroti in Year 10.  Meanwhile Year 9s Ayat Elwasilah and Reem Mohamed are collaborating over video calls to do their homework together.

Well done everyone - keep up the good work!
