Students become BBC Young Reporters

Year 8 students participating in ‘BBC Young Reporter’ had the amazing opportunity of visiting the Bristol 24/7 newsrooms, situated in 'Paintworks', to see how a live newsroom runs. They had a tour of the office as well as the experience of interviewing one of the chief editors in their boardroom. Our students found it particularly useful and interesting to ask questions about journalism; including finding out about the process of news stories from conception to publication.

Well done to Naamah (8M), Oscar (8T), Nevaeh (8M), Freya (8P), Louis (8T), Matilda (8P), George (8M) and Hadiir for the impressive skills and questioning.

Oscar comments:

“It was really interesting to tour a working newsroom and learn about what goes into producing our local news. It will definitely help with writing our own articles and it was a great insight into a future career in journalism.”
